My name is Elrien Schutte & the medium I work in is
Acrylic.
I stay in Cradock, Eastern Cape, South Africa .The heart of the Karoo. I grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape & I believe that is where my love for nature & exploration started. I was & still is surrounded by our Creator's creations. The primary themes that I focus
on, are flowers. I have always been fascinated & attracted to the beauty & uniqueness of a flower. The texture, flow,colour, smell, form & the contrast between light & dark is what gives me the excitement & enjoyment to paint flowers. Every flower has a story to tell, just like an Artist. So make your story your own. Since the pandemic until now, I've been paying full attention to my art career. I have no professional Tertiary degree in Art, I am a self-taught Artist. I have a degree in Human Movement Science & a Honors degree in Sport Science. Life's twist & turns has brought me to this point & it is to paint & to be creative.
