Biography:

Norbert was born in Brakpan, Gauteng, South Africa on the 8th of October 1964 from parents of German descent.  From a very young age he preferred his crayons to any of his toys. At the age of 10 Norbert completed is first Oil Painting under the auspice of Dianne Johnson Ackerman, who was the inspiration and reason for Norbert to become the Artist he is today.  Norbert completed his schooling in Brakpan and started studies in Linguistics at the Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg. After completing his compulsory 2-year national service at the South African National Defence Force, Norbert started a career in banking, there after expanded his adventures to the Car Rental Industry.  Creativity was lacking in his career and Norbert ventured into horticulture, landscaping for years to come, but was forced to take another career change due to health implications caused by the harsh African sun.  This was the stage where Norbert turned his hobby into a breadwinning career, helping others to develop the same passion and love of the arts as he did. Norbert exhibited in the USA, Germany, Ireland and achieved great international acknowledgement in the international Market, reaping up a multitude of international awards  Today Norbert shares his knowledge and years of experience in the Art Industry with fellow artists, conducting art classes and presenting art workshops country wide.
